It either goes easily from the heart, or it is almost impossible to pronounce or to write it down: the declaration of love. For all those in the mist of feelings and lacking of words, there is the mixtape, a self edited audiocassette with the most compelling songs. MIXTAPE is a tribute to this object, which at the same time ushered an era of copying and rearranging of songs.The audiocassette emancipated consumers and freed them from their passive role.In MIXTAPE the audience will create the soundtrack of the evening. Put a audio device on stage, handed out a few CDs, and the audience can select songs and can hear these live. Thereto Felix Marchand is telling, dancing and creating his own personal mixtape. He is copying and sampling movements, words, scenes from 40 productions of 12 years of stage experience, he is recalling the dance of his youth, listening to the songs and bowing to the audience.
MIXTAPE celebrated its premiere in 2006 and toured around Europe and Southamerica. In 2014 Felix got support from the city of Berlin to retake the piece and show it in three different locations in Berlin. How does this MIXTAPE looks after eight years? How the new archive of body experiences is performed now? How can one hear and see it today?

Una declaración de amor o bien sale fácilmente del corazón o es casi imposible decirla en palabras. Para todos aquellos carentes de palabras en la neblina de los sentimientos, existe el mixtape, un casete auto editado con canciones favoritas.
MIXTAPE es una obra que tributa homenaje a las compilaciones de canciones que la gente solía hacer cuando aparecieron en el mercado los primeros casetes y con ellos la posibilidad de elegir y grabar cada uno sus canciones preferidas y, al mismo tiempo, ponerlas en un cierto orden. Felix Marchand ofrece en su obra un menú de canciones que evoca la memoria colectiva. De esas, el público tendrá que el elegir sus canciones favoritas y crear la banda de sonido de la obra que será puesta en escena. Paralelamente a la música Felix Marchand hará su propia mezcla, citando momentos de su vida y fragmentos de obras en las que ha participado, 40 producciones en 12 años su experiencia profesional.
MIXTAPE fue estrenada en Berlín en el 2006 y luego fue llevada a varios festivales entre ellos el Impulstanz, en Viena, uno de los festivales de danza más destacados en el ámbito internacional. En 2014 Felix obtuvo el apoyo de la ciudad de Berlín para volver mostrar esta obra en tres lugares diferentes en Berlín.
